Background
A large area of McLeod Park, formerly home to the Whakatiki Bowling Club, is no longer being used as a recreational lawn bowls area. Upper Hutt City Council owns the land at 90A McLeod Street. Menzshed Upper Hutt Incorporated (Menzshed), are seeking a Deed of Lease - Bare Land for part of that area.
If successful in obtaining a lease from Council, Menzshed intend to fundraise for, and construct a purpose built Menzshed facility including a workshop, shipping containers for storage, and outdoor recreation facilities.
We have agreed in principle to grant a Deed of Lease - Bare Land to Menzshed subject to public consultation. We're keen to kōrero (talk) with you and find out what you think of Menzshed moving in.
We encourage you to take some time to consider our in principle decision to grant a Deed of Lease - Bare Land, to Menzshed at McLeod Park. Additional information supporting information is available below.

Points to consider
Terms of the lease will require Menzshed to comply with the Upper Hutt District Plan
Menzshed's proposed hours of operation are 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Monday to Friday
As membership increases, afternoon operational hours could be introduced (weekend operations are not proposed at this time)
All access will be restricted to the existing vehicle access way between numbers 52 and 56 McLeod Street
